Neato! My friend Red Hestia awarded this to me today. I feel so honored! Now, I'm supposed to thank my award giver, make my own picks for the reward, and write 7 things about myself that no one else knows.About Red Hestia:
She and I are virtual friends. Friends that meet online and live only in cyberspace together have an interesting dynamic. We know so much about each other, but we don't know the sound of one another's voices on the telephone. I can tell you things about who she is on a deep and real level, but I don't know if she's taller than me, if we were to stand side by side. Thanks, Red, for spotlighting me on your blog. I love watching your self-exploration and transformation!
My own picks:
Though I know a metric ton of bloggers, writers and online personalities, I'm going to pick blogs that belong to two of my favorite people (though I have a long list of people I consider favorites). Chosen for writing style, wisdom, humor, authenticity and feet-in-the-mud down-to-earthiness, as well as decent blogging habits (so many of my favorites seem to languish after a while), I choose:
There are dozens more that I could name, but these two stand out for me, personally.
Seven facts about me:
I'm not going to promise that no one knows these facts, because frankly, I don't keep track of that sort of thing.
- When I was little I wanted to be a Rock Star. Specifically, a Pat Benatar / Nancy Wilson sort of rock star.
- I'm officially on volume 37 of my personal journals. Unofficial sidebar journals stack up to closer to 44 or 45 volumes - all of them are hand-written. It's predominantly drivel and navel-gazing, but there are occasional sparks.
- Due to above, I keep an eye out for bargains on journals after Xmas and at other sales. I usually have a padding of 2-3 empty journals at any given time. (Current padding = 5)
- There are 4 of these journals that are in active use right now. One is day to day, one is top secret, one is about the wedding, another is for visual imagery (collages, drawings, sketches).
- I like to earn a shower. I want to mow the lawn, go for a run, weed flower beds, or bike 30 miles before I shower. I like sweating and working hard, and I love that well-earned shower like just about nothing else.
- I enjoy cooking, sometimes. I don't like cooking for just myself. I don't like cooking the same old stuff. And I don't like having to cook every day!
- I'm hopelessly addicted to Sudoku. I'm also pretty doggone good at it.

I'm honored, I'm stunned, and I'm never on FB so I promise to do the required penance as soon as possible. I'd like to thank you, my friend who told me to use blogspot for simplicity, and my dealer. (Just kidding about one of those.....)
This is so sweet. Alicia and Karyn both deserve an award. Carrie you deserve one for doing this.

Awesome, Alicia! Someday, when I travel...I guess I always say that. But no, really, one day all those mysterious things we don't know about each other will be revealed. But it is really wonderful to know and engage in our online friendship. :)
